Sweet and Sour Pork Rib

     How do you ususlly cook pork ribs? Roasted ? Today, I would like to share another way to cook ribs--- Sweet and Sour Pork Ribs.This cuisine combines soy sauce, sugar, chinese black vinegar, garlic, as well as other ingredient to make a delicious sauce for pork ribs. I learned it from my mom who has been passed on from my gradenmom.

  • 3 tablespoon white sugar 
  • 2 tablespoon Chinese Black Vinegar 
  • 1 teaspoon salt 
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon cooking wine 
  • 1 teaspoon corn starch 
  • 1 tablespoon flour 
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped 
  • 2 slice ginger
  • 2 pounds pork ribs, cut into bite size pieces 
  • 1 teaspoon white seasam 



Step 1. Clean pork ribs and chop them into bite-size piecese using a meat cleaver. Then, transfer to a big pot, and fill water until cover ribs. Add cooking wine, salt and gingers. Cooking ribs until the color turn to white, and them take them out for dry. 


Step 2.  Transfer cooked ribs into a bowl and marinate ribs in pepper for 5 min. Then, sprinkle flour over ribs and mix thorough until ribs are evenly coated. 


Step 3. Fry ribs in vegetable oil in a wok over midium heat until ribs turn to golden and brown. Remove from heat and transfer to a sieve set over large bowl to drain oil. Remove any excess oil from wok, and leave a tablespoon oil for next step. 


Step 4. Make sweet and sour sauce --- Mix sugar, chinese black vinegar, and water in a bowl.  Mixsture--Combine core starch and water, and put aside.Dump chopped garlic and ribs into the wok over high heat for two minutes. After that, add sweet and sour sauce and soy sauce for cooking 10 minutes. Then, add the mixture until the sauce become thickness.


Step 5. Remove ribs with thick sauce into the plate, and sprinkle some white seasame.
